Edisto Shrimp Pie
Are you ready for Edisto Shrimp Pie? Shrimp Pie is a southern classic perfect treat on those cool winter nights.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups peeled and cooked shrimp
- 2 cups bread crumbs (about 3 large slices)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon chopped celery or parsley
- 2 tablespoons sherry wine
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce if desired
- Pinch of nutmeg or mace if desired
Directions:
- Preheat the grill to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl soak bread in milk; add shrimp, butter and seasonings
- Butter the sides of the cast iron skillet pour in bread, milk, shrimp and seasoning mixture.
- Place the iron skillet in the grill and close the lid.
- Bake in grill for 30 minutes.
- Serve with hot.
